Project Coordinator/Editor (2012-2016). For this international research organization, responsibilities included copy and content editing as well as proofreading all research products (scientific papers, books, donor and technical reports, proposals, presentations, and protocols) for three senior associates.

  • Initial manuscript submission to more than 20 peer-reviewed journals and book publishers, ensuring conformance with journal or publisher style; shepherding manuscripts through revision and resubmission; page proof review and final approval.

  • Coordination of proposal preparation for multimillion-dollar grant applications. Created project calendars, solicited and tracked materials from research team, drafted nontechnical narrative components, edited and formatted technical sections written by multiple collaborators, constructed budgets and budget narratives, monitored compliance with funding opportunity guidelines, managed final submission to the Council’s grants and contracts office.

  • Literature reviews and general research support, maintenance of 6,000-reference EndNote database.

  • Project coordination and U.S.-based data collection support — survey questionnaire and user guide formatting, editing, and proofreading; creation and testing of audio scripts for computerized interviewing; budget support, financial monitoring, supplies procurement, travel and event coordination for research projects in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • Editing and updating website content for various studies.

  • Expert preparation of complex tables and graphs using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Recruited candidates for positions at Fortune 500 clients, edited résumés, prepared revenue forecasts, monitored expenses, customized independent consultant agreements, and finalized legal documents. Worked closely with accountant and legal counsel, supervised administrative assistant.
